Responsibilities
The selected candidate will provide expert paediatric orthopaedic care, including:
- Managing fractures and musculoskeletal trauma in children’s limbs and spine.
- Treating scoliosis, back pain, torticollis, and other paediatric spine conditions.
- Addressing foot deformities (e.g., flatfoot, bunions) and clubfoot (via the Ponseti method).
- Treating sports injuries of the elbow, shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle in children.
- Managing hip conditions such as developmental dysplasia (DDH), Perthes disease, and slipped capital femoral epiphysis.
- Treating orthopaedic manifestations of neuromuscular conditions (e.g., cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophies).
- Correcting limb length differences (LLD) and angular deformities.
- Treating hand conditions (e.g., trigger finger, polydactyly, syndactyly).
- Managing musculoskeletal infections and tumours in paediatric patients.
- Offering treatments for conditions related to growing bones and development.
- Providing surgical and non-surgical management for developmental orthopaedic issues.
Requirements
- Recognized M.B.B.S. or equivalent basic medical degree.
- Relevant post-graduate qualifications recognized by the Singapore Medical Council.
- Completion of specialist training in paediatric orthopaedic surgery or a related field.
- Accredited as a specialist in paediatric orthopaedic surgery or the appropriate specialty.
