Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for providing specialized maternal fetal medicine care, including:
- Triaging emergency obstetric admissions and managing high-risk cases.
- Monitoring maternal and fetal well-being during labor and delivery, including vaginal, instrumental, breech, and caesarean section deliveries.
- Performing Prostin cervical priming and external cephalic version for breech presentations.
- Managing conditions such as Placenta Previa, Placenta Accreta, and high-risk obstetric deliveries.
- Running outpatient clinics for pregnant mothers with medical conditions (e.g., diabetes, thyroid disorders, asthma).
- Offering pre-pregnancy counseling and prenatal screenings.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Providing emotional support, counseling, and education for high-risk pregnancies.
- Engaging in clinical research and contributing to teaching and mentoring junior staff.
Requirements
- Recognized M.B.B.S. or an equivalent basic medical degree.
- Relevant post-graduate qualifications recognized by the Singapore Medical Council.
- Completion of specialist training in maternal fetal medicine or a related field.
- Accredited as a specialist in maternal fetal medicine or the appropriate specialty.
