Job Description
This role provides support and assistance to the Director of Nursing (DON) in sustaining the standards of nursing practice; ensuring that safe, high quality, efficient and cost-effective care is delivered to the residents and their families.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operationalizes the Nursing Home’s goals and objectives; provides leadership and oversight in the planning, development, coordination and evaluation of nursing services
- Responsible for the compliance of all nursing standards as stipulated by the Ministry of Health and the Singapore Nursing Board
- Assists the DON in draws up short to long-term plans e.g. annual and 5-yearly, to accommodate trends in residential nursing care
- Assists the DON in identifying new programs for the residents and special projects to meet any service gaps
- Ensures appropriate skills mix and adequate manpower resourcing for all shifts and types of services
- Ensures cost-effective service and optimal outcomes are maintained and/or enhanced
- Promotes evidence-based practices or nursing care delivery
- Ensures quality audits are planned and conducted periodically
- Monitors and analyses trends and changing needs of residents in institutional settings
- Ensures written job descriptions of all categories of healthcare staff are endorsed by management and readily accessible
- Directs and facilitates staff development, skills and competency upgrading through various opportunities and pathways
- Oversees Training Department in developing and training of healthcare staff to meet the needs of the clients
- Ensures written policies and procedures and work process are available and up to date to guide nursing care delivery
- Undertakes any other responsibilities as directed by the Supervisor/ Management of the Company
Job requirements:
- Degree in Management Studies or equivalent
- Post Graduate Nursing Specialty Certificate
- State Registered Nurse and valid practicing licensed issued by the Singapore Nursing Board
- Valid certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Minimum 5 years of management experience, with demonstration of leadership ability in a health care organization
- Possess initiative, drive and self-motivation to persevere and make things happen
- Able to work effectively with diverse teams and all levels of employees to achieve positive outcomes
