1. Administrative Function
1a· Maintains nursing guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
1b· Maintains nursing operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing programs, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
1c· Assures quality of care by developing and interpreting nursing department's philosophies and standards of care; enforcing adherence to Singapore Nursing Board practice act requirements and to MOH regulations; measuring health outcomes against standards; making or recommending adjustments.
1d· Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to residents, caregivers, and families.
1e· Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
1f· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
2. Nursing Function
2a· Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training nurses and auxiliary staff.
2b· Completes resident care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff; following up on work results.
2c· Maintains nursing staff job results by coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
2d· Resolves resident needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
2e· Maintains safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from other health care professionals.
2f· Protects residents and employees by developing and interpreting infection-control policies and protocols; enforcing medication administration, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
2g· Maintains resident confidence and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing.
2h· Maintains documentation of resident care services by auditing resident and department records.
2i· Ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment by verifying emergency equipment availability; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
2j· Maintains nursing supplies inventory by studying usage reports; identifying trends; anticipating needed supplies; approving requisitions and cost allocations.
2k· Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.
2l· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in Health Science and Post Basic specialty qualification in Emergency Nursing or Critical Care Course
- Minimum 7 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse with some management experience
- Registered with Singapore Nursing Board
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Skills
- Good communication and customer service/interpersonal skills
- Passion for service excellence
